The purpose of this study was to develop a nursing support model to foster independence in preschoolers with congenital heart disease (CHD). The nursing model was created through the implementation of the Delphi method and trial of the nursing support model with skilled nurses.
The final nursing support model consists of six categories, including 34 subcategories: providing a cozy atmosphere; respecting the individuality of preschoolers; encouraging self-perception; facilitating age-appropriate coping skills; encouraging preschoolers’ independence from their families; and collaborating with other specialists to realize their lives both at home and in preschools and kindergartens.

We clarified three research subjects. The first was the care of preschoolers with congenital heart disease by kindergarten and nursery teachers. The study showed that kindergarten and nursery teachers involved other pupils and monitored the condition of children with congenital heart disease to avoid special treatment of the children in the group setting. In the second study, we analyzed the concept of "children's independence" in Japan. In the third study, we clarified the care to support the group life of children with congenital heart disease of expert nurses, and developed "the model to support group life of preschoolers with congenital heart disease" by Delphi method.

As part of a series of studies for the development and evaluation of anti-smoking education for primary and junior high school children in Japan, a program consisting of school-based class and home-based follow-up was evaluated by means of a questionnaire analysis. The subjects were 6th grade primary school children and 7th grade junior high school pupils. The results show that the smoking prevention class aroused intellectual interest of the subjects in that they described the session was “interesting”, “very good” and “alarming”. The 6th grade children had a more negative attitude toward smoking immediately after and three months after the class than before, but the attitude of the 7th grade pupils hardly changed. The limited impact of the program on the older subjects can be attributed to the presence of smokers around them in the majority of cases. The degree of cooperation from family members should be taken into account in developing smoking prevention strategies.

The purpose of this project was to develop a mobile e-learning application designed to enhance the awareness of preparation among nurses and parents of sick children. The developed application consisted of a lecture emphasizing the rights of children to be given information about the medical procedure they were undergoing, and practical and illustrative easy-to-follow advice on how to give information to children. The application could be run on laptops and tablets so that users could learn and practice the contents anytime and anywhere they liked. The text and illustrations were used to demonstrate how children should be prepared for procedures. 14 procedures were covered in the application - surgery, drip, ultrasound, chest X-ray, ECG, CT, MRI, lumbar puncture, bone-marrow puncture, inhalation, enema, electroencephalography, blood sampling and nasopharyngeal culture.

Those viewpoints were change of the lifestyle habit around the program, satisfaction of the program, learning of school children, and participation and reaction of the family. The result were as follows :
In elementary school 5 graders who carried out the program on eating habit center, there was the improvement which is significant around the program in "unbalanced diet" "a vegetable intake" "it walks, when it goes out near". And, they have positively participated in the learning which adopted the imaginary experience and group work. In elementary school of 3 graders who did the program on the physical activity habit center, school children show the resistant interest for the learning using the pedometer. And they the most mainly described the physical activity in the life goal, and they persevered in respect of the physical activity. And, either school year "healthy file" used by passing for 1 year, is brought back in the home, and the healthy goal is made with the family, and the learning in the school has also been transmitted to the family also. It was possible to use the "healthy file" as a material of family guidance of obese children by the school nurse.
